EDITOR IN CHIEF
JACKSON WOJANJackson was born in Plano, Texas on August 22, 1997. Currently a junior at Classen School for Advanced Studies, Jackson is a technical designer and manager for the theatre department at CSAS. He has also been a part of the Rotary Youth Leadership Association for two years and is currently a New York Leadership Film Academy student. Jackson has experience with public speaking as Master of Ceremonies on multiple occasions for his school events and is a magazine journalist, reporter, graphic designer and article manager for his school newspaper and magazine. His current ambition in life is to become a broadcast journalist for a major news company and to eventually get his own talk show on television.

MANAGING EDITOR
OLIVIA HAYNESOlivia is a rising senior in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She is the Managing Editor of the digital publication, Uncovering the Jungle. She is a documentary filmmaker, her most recent project being “theblackboyproject," a short documentary exploring the black male experience at a majority-white Quaker private school. In the future she hopes to go deeper into social justice work and the creation of digital media.

REPORTING CREW
ADRIANNE MORALESAdrianne is a rising senior from Miami, Florida; she is currently the lead anchor for her school's national-award-winning broadcast morning show, WAHS News. She has been involved with broadcast since the fifth grade and has received countless awards as both a reporter and a thespian. She hopes to receive a student Emmy her senior year and later pursue public relations in college.

veronica lamVeronica is currently a reporter for the digital publication, Uncovering the Jungle. She is originally from Caracas, Venezuela, and is now living in Miami, Florida. Her passions include dancing, writing, and social work. Being part of a big family, Veronica is a person who is open to trying new things and meeting new people. |
NICHOLAS HICKSNicholas is from Charlotte, North Carolina. He is co-captain on his high school’s congressional debate team. He is currently a Space Jam extraordinaire, but wishes to either be a major figure in cinematography or an editor for films when he grows up. Nicholas hopes one day to be a hero to those who need one.

SHAE TURNERShae is a rising sophomore from Las Vegas, Nevada. Shae attends Faith Lutheran Jr. & Sr. High School, and has been attending there since her sixth grade year. While in middle school, she was a part of the newspaper staff on the MS Crusader Chronicle. Now Shae is a staff member on Faith Lutheran’s high school broadcast news network as well as the newspaper. She is also a member of her student council and varsity dance team.

JARED QUINNJared is a rising senior attending Cranford High School in Cranford, New Jersey. He is a reporter assisting Amanda and Timmy on their investigation involving art and street performances in New York City for the digital publication, Uncovering the Jungle. He is interested in pursuing film as a college major and career. He has three older sisters, enjoys hanging out with his friends, and is the Secretary of the Class of 2017 at Cranford High.

RAVEN WALKERRaven lives in New York, and is going into her junior year of high school at the High School of Telecommunication Arts and Technology. She is a well rounded student who assists in managing the girls basketball team at her school. Raven also loves to write. She often enjoys expressing her opinion on the complications of today’s society, and developing ways with her peers to work around them, hoping to one day, with a team, take action in hopes for a better community.

AMARIS MANNING
Amaris was born and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and is a 17 year old rising senior. Amaris has future aspirations of becoming a New York Times #1 and International bestselling author, and a successful film director. Since the third grade, Amaris has written short stories, novellas, and novels on various genres such as: Science Fiction, Thriller or Mystery, General Fiction, Teen Fiction, Humor, War or Historical Fiction, and etc. Amaris also enjoys making low-budget films based on life experiences or random ideas with either her friends, characters she's designed from clay, or toys from her childhood. Amaris thrives to use her works to break the boundaries of stereotypes and cliches upon minorities and the youth generation across the world. Recently, Amaris has collaborated with other talented scholars in the Envision program in writing an article for the digital publication, Uncovering the Jungle.

TIMOTHY HASSTimmy is a 17 year old who lives in Milton, Georgia. He is the Captain of his high school cheer team, a member of the cirque planning team, and the Vice President of the Thespian Troupe. Timmy can be found cruising around town in his Jeep, working on his acrobatic skills at school, or just chilling in his basement watching Netflix.

COPY EDITORS
DEAUNA NUNESDeauna is from Disputanta, Virginia and is currently heading into her final year of highschool. She is the Copy Editor for the digital publication, Uncovering the Jungle. Deauna intends to attend Emerson University to study in their Literature, Writing, and Publishing program in the fall of 2017. Her ambition is to become an editor of a major literature publishing company. Deauna wishes to help get the stories that need to be told out for the world to enjoy.

SARAH HAROUNISarah is from Preston, Maryland. She hopes to establish herself in the news reporter and journalist careers. Sarah enjoys sports like volleyball. Throughout her life she has performed in various school plays as well as being top of her class in English and literature. Sarah also enjoys singing in her free time, and going above and beyond in her studies and areas of expertise.

arielle andersonArielle is a rising sophomore who enjoys both music and art. The instrument she is most well known for playing is alto or bari sax. When she is not practicing an instrument she's outside longboarding with her best friend Eric. She's friendly, but is known to be stubborn and hard headed. If you need help, Arielle would be the one to go to.

GRAPHIC DESIGNERS
jacqueline legateJacqueline is the Graphic Designer for the digital publication of Uncovering the Jungle. She is creative, well traveled, and loves to create and appreciate all forms of art. She is a proud member and coach for the National Hispanic Institute, and dedicates a major part of her life to improving the Latino Community, as she has experienced its hardships, living in the Borderland . There are multiple quotes from Gerard Way that Jacqueline believes relates the most to her personality. These quotes include,"when an artist passes away, I like to think that they return to cosmic dust and become part of the place where ideas come from", and, “Nothing can stop you except maybe the police”.

emmy maEmmy is a rising junior from Boston, Massachusetts and is one of the graphic designers for the digital publication Uncovering the Jungle. As a competitive figure skater, she has traveled all over the country; she recently placed third overall nationally. She participates in the Youth Philharmonic Orchestra at the New England Conservatory and will tour internationally this coming year. In her free time, Emmy loves to draw, find new music to listen to, and cuddle with her cat.

EMMA BIDICEmma is a rising sophomore attending Tower Hill School in Wilmington, Delaware. She mainly enjoys the arts, plus the scientific and mathematical side of academics. During this previous school year, Emma played Portia and Cato in her school play of Julius Caesar. She has competed and won multiple chorus concerts with her school as well as showcased her art pieces in various shows. She is currently putting together a cheer and dance team for her upcoming sophomore year. One of her favorite hobbies is going outside and challenging herself with high rope courses, rock climbing, hiking, paddle boarding, and surfing.

JOSEPH BAYLISJoseph Baylis is a rising junior from Los Angeles, California. He attends University High School since the beginning of grade 10, formerly attending Alexander Hamilton High School. His hobbies include: hanging out with friends, video games, archery, snowboarding, drawing and running. He has one sister, two half brothers, two step siblings: one girl who is married and one boy. also has a brother-in-law. He is currently excited to attend this year’s Envision program in New York City.
